Ralph Shippam
Ralph co-founded CookBook Co. and brings more than a decade of software engineering experience across mobile apps, cloud systems, APIs and AI. In the kitchen, he combines ideas from different recipes and uses Ask CookBook to adapt dishes for the people around his table.
In the kitchen
Ralph often starts dinner with several recipes: a sauce from one, an idea from another, then a version to make his own. He uses Ask CookBook to turn up the spice, explore an adjustment or adapt a dish for whoever is joining the table.
He and Sammy build recipe technology on Australia's Sunshine Coast and cook with it every day. Saving ideas, trying dishes and sharing favourite recipes with family keeps their work connected to the home cooks using CookBook.
Engineering experience
Ralph's earlier work at the University of Southern Queensland covered agricultural research, machine vision, irrigation and farm automation. His software engineering experience spans mobile apps, cloud systems, APIs and AI workflows.
His work now includes CookBook, the FoodByMaria app, AppScreens and software consultancy through Salty Bytes. At CookBook, that experience goes into capturing ingredients, keeping recipes in sync and connecting a saved idea with planning, shopping and cooking.
